Chapter 9 Underway

Last night Em took me to Starbucks.  Yeah, me, at a coffee joint.  We worked on our individual projects amid the smells and the pervasive High School chatter about who-likes-who.

I wrote 5 pages of Chapter 9, and learned that the hard part about having a good idea is forcing oneself to write the necessary pages to bridge the gap between where you are presently and when that good idea will take place.  Last night I wrote the beginning of that bridge.

I have very clear scenes in my mind for this section of the book, Act II:  Brand's Story, but the in-betweens are very fuzzy.  This will likely be my constant challenge.  Lots of authors have great ideas, but can they be bridged with something that doesn't lose the reader's interest?  We'll see.
